Little bits of nothing

I am a dancer, I don't want to dance I have to. Now that ballet has ended I am SO board and don't know what to do with myself. For me, school is still going on and I am in the middle of final exam week. This is my first year of exams. I hate it. At least I have most of my friends to go through with it with me. Over the weekend me and my family went to 2 parties at friends houses. I had a really good time. We also went to a 5k race my sister Sophia was in along with some friends. This post is not very long but it summarizes my life since May 16, my last post, but I will make up for it with pictures.

This is me!

Yes, I am a ballerina but I do not walk around in pink tutus and point shoes with the ribbons tied up to my knees. Being a dancer is not about the frilly costumes. It is about working hard, trying your best, sweating and having fun. Ballerinas are like regular people, but with a boring way of life like school, ballet, homework, bed... That is pretty much my life.

"Moment filled with memories
She stoops to fix her shoe
Her heart is racing quickly
Her dress rehearsal due
Stage is like an ocean
Where crystals seems to shine
Beckons her to dance upon
Reflections of life's time
Suddenly she rises
She sees the magic there
Running in a gust of wind
She dances with great flair
Movement of a willow
So gracious as she sways
Gentle sounds of orchestra
Each step her grand ballet
Destiny is born now
Her graceful moves divine
Pirouettes across the stage
Her shadow now aligns
Dance of life begins now
Her music special score
Bowing for the audience
She hears the words encore."

ballet + music = fun

Most people think that being a ballerina is stupid and boring, I agree. The life of a dancer is not always fair and not all that interesting. To have fun while doing those boring exercises during ballet class you have to be challenged, and try new things. You also have to have a love for the arts and have an inspiration. All of the real dancers I know are not all frilly little girls who dance on there toes wearing pink tutus. When you are a dancer, of any kind of dance, you have to be determined, be able to work hard day and night and make scarifies. Being a dancer is not when you take a hour class once a week. It is when you take classes every day of the week, when your scheduled is school, ballet, homework, bed every day.

When armatures think of ballet shoes they think of the kind of shoe that allows you to dance on the tips of your toes and with pink ribbons tied up to your knees. That is wrong. Those shoes are called point shoes, the shoes are not all pink and the ribbons are tied around your ankle. There are many kinds of point shoes like "Diamond Point", "Capezio" or "Russian Point" there are millions of different types. You also have to sew them yourself.
